LAHORE – Pakistan, the fifth-most populous nation in the world, has a 2.4% yearly population growth, and 11,000 moms die giving birth each year.
On World Population Day, the Population Council releases the figures. It claimed that Pakistan’s population was expanding more quickly than that of any other Asian nation.
The council emphasized that every year in Pakistan, 11,000 women pass away while giving birth, and 62 out of every 1,000 infants pass away before turning one.
According to the survey, every woman in Pakistan gave birth to four kids on average, and 40% of those kids were underweight and had malnutrition.
The council said in the study that Pakistan will need more than 100 million jobs and 20 million homes by 2040. It also stated that 18% of all children under the age of five were not growing.
The council said that Pakistan is experiencing a serious water deficit as a result of an increase in population.
One in three Pakistani youngsters did not attend school, and it was estimated the country will need 85,000 more primary schools by 2040.
India and Bangladesh have been able to maintain control over Pakistan’s population despite its fast population growth.
According to the council, just 34 out of 100 married couples in Pakistan utilized contraception, and every married couple there had one unintended child on average.
In Pakistan, 13% of those between the ages of 20 and 24 are unemployed.
