Ramiz Raja, a prominent commentator and former captain of Pakistan, was not included on the celebrity-studded commentary team for the forthcoming Asia Cup 2023, which will begin on August 30.
The commentary team for this year’s Asia Cup, which included Pakistan’s Bazid Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Aamer Sohail, was revealed by the event’s official broadcaster on Friday.
Additionally notable individuals like Matthew Hayden, Andy Flower, and Ravi Shastri are on the commentary panel.
Notably, Ramiz Raja, the former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), was not included on the panel. Raja made his commentary comeback after a nearly two-year absence during Pakistan’s two-match away Test series against Sri Lanka last month.
Ramiz took a hiatus from commentary shortly after taking over as PCB chairman, but he continued to be active in managing the organization’s business until his resignation in December 2022.
Ramiz Raja was fired, although he did not immediately return to his commentary position. He also skipped the home series against New Zealand and the eighth Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.
