Exports of services increased by 17.07 percent in three quarters, to 20.19 percent in March

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) revealed that service exports from the country increased by 17.07 percent in the first three quarters of the current fiscal year (2021-22) compared to the same period previous year.

Services exports from July to March (2021-22) totaled $5,156.10 million, up 17.07 percent from $4,404.24 million in July to March (2020-21).

Imports of services increased by 31.33 percent during the period under review, rising from US $ 6,347.08 million last year to US $ 8,335.39 million.

According to the numbers, the services trade deficit was US $ 3,179.29 billion this fiscal year, up from US $ 1,942.84 billion the previous fiscal year, a 63.64 percent rise.

On a year-over-year basis, services exports increased by 20.19 percent to US $ 668.29 million in March 2022, compared to US $ 556.03 million in March 2021.
