ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – TikTok’s services were reinstated in Pakistan after the popular video-sharing website assured the country that it will regulate the dissemination of immoral content, according to Dunya News on Friday.
According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), TikTok has been reinstated following the Platform’s commitments to monitor immoral and filthy material.
TikTok has also informed Pakistan that it will restrict users who submit “unlawful content,” according to a PTA statement on Twitter. Monitoring of illicit content would continue, according to a PTA official.
Tiktok will be banned in Pakistan on July 20, 2021. Pakistan has urged TikTok to create an effective control system.
