Thursday saw a decrease in the price of gold in Pakistan after Wednesday saw the largest one-day surge.
The price of gold (24 carats) declined by Rs 2,700 per tola to Rs 237,300, according to statistics issued by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), while the price of 10 grammes decreased by Rs 2,314 to Rs 203,447.
Despite today’s decline, the cost of gold has gone up by Rs. 11,800 per tola over the last week. On Monday, the price of the precious metal increased by Rs. 1,400 per tola, on Tuesday by Rs. 3,200 per tola, and on Wednesday by Rs. 9,900 per tola.
The price of gold increased every day last week, with the exception of Friday, when it decreased by Rs. 300 per tola. The overall gain for the week was Rs. 6,000 per tola.
By 1339 GMT, spot gold prices were largely constant at $2,029.46 per ounce on the global market, while US gold futures were down 0.1 percent at $2,035.00.
