KARACHI: On Thursday, the Pakistani rupee continued to depreciate against the US dollar in the interbank market for the ninth consecutive session.
According to forex dealers, the domestic currency depreciated one paisa against the greenback at the start of the session, dropping to a new low of Rs181.74.
The US dollar is currently trading at Rs182.30 against the rupee on the open market.
In the interbank market on Tuesday, the local unit ended at Rs181.73 to the dollar, down 0.26 percent from an all-time low of Rs181.25 on Monday.
The rupee is under pressure, according to experts, due to political turmoil in the country and uncertainty around the seventh review of the $6 billion IMF loan programme.
