After increasing 47 paisa at the Interbank on Tuesday, the US Dollar closed at an all-time high versus the Pakistani Rupee (PKR).

Weakening macroeconomic kept dollar demand high on the second business day of the week, with the greenback closing at Rs201.41.

Depleting foreign exchange reserves and uncertainties over the resumption of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme are weighing on the local currency.

The dollar has gained Rs18.48 versus the local currency since the new government took office.
